This variable contrast, black and white enlarging paper features a medium weight, polyethylene coated base, making it a reliable choice for a variety of applications, including photography, graphic design, and fine art printing.Experience the flexibility of contrast control, with the ability to adjust from grade 0 through grade 5 using standard Ilford Multigrade or Kodak Polymax/Polycontrast filters. You can also use an enlarger color head by adjusting the amount of magenta or yellow filters. This paper is designed for use with tungsten or tungsten quartz halogen light sources, ensuring vibrant, high-quality prints every time.Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper is straightforward to expose, depending on the filter system in use. For Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 - 3.5 have the same speed rating (ISO P200), while grades 4 through 5 require approximately twice the exposure. Ensure safe handling in a photographic darkroom illuminated by standard OC, red, or sodium vapor safelights such as Thomas brand safelights. Maintain a minimum distance of 3 feet from the paper to the safelights to prevent fogging. This paper can be processed in either trays or roller transport processing machines. It can be developed in any standard black and white photographic paper developer, with a recommended development time of 60 - 90 seconds at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C. To stop development immediately and extend fixer life, use a standard stop bath for a minimum of 10 seconds at a temperature between 65 Degree -75 Degree F (18 Degree -24 Degree C). Fixed prints should be washed in running water for 3-4 minutes. For best preservation, store your Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper in a cool, dry place. For prolonged storage, a freezer can be used. Always allow sufficient time for warming up and avoid condensation on the paper. Keep out of reach of harmful vapors & gases and return unused paper to its original packaging for storage. Box came a bit dinged up but overall good. Paper performed as expected but needed to develop for longer than recommended on spec sheet in D76.

Good paper for getting back into darkroom workflow

Still learning how to use this paper. Claims to be both OC and red light safe. Some fogging with the OC filter. Needs about one additional filter number to get the desired contrast I used to get with other papers. Appears that there has been a recent change in the emulsion across several paper suppliers I have used. Better than some recent experiences I have had with other brands. Still a good value for the price.

A learning curve

I tried this photopaper in the lab and outside in the sun. I am very pleased with my results: clarity, development times  and other important factors exceeded my results. Good paper, I need more!
