Box came a bit dinged up but overall good. Paper performed as expected but needed to develop for longer than recommended on spec sheet in D76.

Still learning how to use this paper. Claims to be both OC and red light safe. Some fogging with the OC filter. Needs about one additional filter number to get the desired contrast I used to get with other papers. Appears that there has been a recent change in the emulsion across several paper suppliers I have used. Better than some recent experiences I have had with other brands. Still a good value for the price.

I tried this photopaper in the lab and outside in the sun. I am very pleased with my results: clarity, development times and other important factors exceeded my results. Good paper, I need more!

I liked the finish on this paper - it was easy to use, obvious which side is emulsion in darkroom. Worked well

An economical paper. Good DMax. Decent highlights. Works well with split grade printing and also works well with Polyphenol developers. And reasonably priced as well.

An exceptional choice for photographers, the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper offers a versatile and high-quality medium for black and white photo enlargements. This semi-matte, 11x14" paper features a variable contrast, allowing for a wide range of tonal adjustments. Its medium weight and polyethylene-coated base ensure durability and longevity.
The Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper's unique characteristic lies in its ability to adjust contrast levels from grade 0 through grade 5. This is achieved using standard Ilford Multigrade or Kodak Polymax/Polycontrast filters. Alternatively, an enlarger color head can be utilized by modifying the amount of yellow or magenta filters.
Designed for compatibility with tungsten or tungsten quartz halogen light sources, this paper provides consistent contrast values. The exposure guide indicates that for Ilford Multigrade filters, grades 00 - 3.5 have the same speed rating (ISO P200), while grades 4 through 5 require approximately double the exposure time.
When handling the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper, it's crucial to maintain a controlled environment. The paper should only be opened in a photographic darkroom, illuminated by standard OC, red, or sodium vapor safelights, such as Thomas brand safelights. Safelights should be kept at least 3 feet away from the paper to prevent safelight fog.
Processing the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper is straightforward. It can be processed in trays or roller transport processing machines. Although the paper contains a developing agent, activation/stabilization processing is not recommended. The paper can be developed in any standard black and white photographic paper developer, typically requiring 60 - 90 seconds at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C.
To halt development and prolong fixer life, a standard stop bath should be used for a minimum of 10 seconds at a temperature between 65 Degree -75 Degree F (18 Degree -24 Degree C). Fixing can be achieved in a standard fixing solution, generally requiring a 2-5 minute fix time at 68 Degree F/20 Degree C.
After fixing, prints should be washed in running water for 3-4 minutes. Hypo clearing agents or hypo eliminators should not be used. For optimal preservation, store the paper in a cool, dry place. For extended storage, a freezer can be used, but allow sufficient time for warming up and avoid condensation on the paper. Unused paper should be returned to its original packaging for storage, and kept out of reach of harmful vapors and gases.
In summary, the Arista.EDU Ultra VC RC Paper, with its variable contrast and semi-matte finish, offers photographers a reliable and high-quality medium for black and white photo enlargements.
