Epson UltraChrome HDR 700 ml. Light Light Black High Density Resin Pigment Based Ink for the Stylus Pro 7890, 7900, 9890 & 9900 Inkjet Printers

An innovative addition to Epson's line of printing solutions, the Stylus Pro 7900 (24 inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44 inch) are the brand's premier ten-color printers, equipped with the groundbreaking UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink technology. This advanced ink set, including the unique shades of orange and green, significantly broadens the color spectrum, thereby enhancing digital printing opportunities within the packaging and remote proofing market segments.

The UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density resin-coated pigment ink formulation, featuring a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black. This is complemented by cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. A matte black variant is also included, which can be auto-switched with photo black.

This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink offers a myriad of benefits. It ensures reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and excellent short-term color stability. Moreover, it provides outstanding long-term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, and high gloss levels on water-resistant prints.

Economical and efficient, the introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml) contributes to a lower cost per milliliter of ink. These high-capacity ink cartridges also minimize the need for frequent replacements, promoting greater unattended printing.

The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 feature Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head, equipped with 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. Epson's Ink Repelling Coating for the print head and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system work in tandem to prevent downtime by detecting and minimizing nozzle clogging in advance, thereby eliminating paper waste during the cleaning process.

Epson's AID technology employs a sensor near the print head that monitors the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. A lower than expected electrical charge indicates insufficient ink was fired, triggering the print head cleaning process automatically. Compared to current 8-color 24 inch and 44 inch printers, the print speed is dramatically increased, with the Stylus Pro 7900 capable of producing an A1 (720x720dpi) sellable quality print on Epson's Premium Glossy Photo Paper in an impressive 5 minutes.
