Great Printer except that HP Recommended the wrong driver
This 454dn is an excellent laserjet printer. It replaces my CP3505 printer. It prints faster and with slightly better quality. the only gliche was that HP recommended the wrong driver. On my Windows 10 computer the only driver that would work was the Universal PCL 6. HP mistakenly recommended the Easy Start 123. This cost me and tech support two days of headaches finding the proper driver

much better than the old printer
I gave this printer a 4 instead of a 5 only because HP supplied the wrong driver. This 454dn takes a Universal PCL 6 driver instead of the recommended HP driver. it caused not only me but tech support at HP 2 days worth of fits until one tech figured out that his company recommended the wrong driver

Well made and a highly functional printer.
Totally satisfied with my purchase. Printer works a lot better than I expected. Easy to download and install printer drivers (to my astonishment). I only wish that the toner cartridges were not so expensive. This printer was out of stock for a long time. I am glad that I waited until it was available.

Not Wireless as Advertised
The specs say this has wireless capabilities as do the set up instructions but it wouldn?t connect. HP Support was nearly impossible to reach and not vey competent.

Excellent printer, so glad it became available.
Did quite a bit of research, this one kept getting mentions, especially as being a laser that prints photos very well. By the time I decided it was the one, it wasn't available anywhere. Kept forgetting about it, every time I went back to it, still not available... until one day, it was! Bought it instantly, best price was direct from HP too. It came pretty quickly (free shipping!), was easy to set up (ok, a few minor hiccups but not so many it got frustrating) and works like a charm. Lovely, clear, colourful prints.

Like the printer for the 4 days it worked.
The printer worked great for 4 days. Good quality print, fast, then it started shifting the print 2 1/2" off to the right on anything I printed from any program, and even the internal pages. I got in touch with tech support, and they just told me to return it for a new one. Only problem is there are no new ones right now. Wish there were I definitely would get another one. Guess I will once they come back in stock. I just wish tech support would have been able to try something that might have fixed the problem. I hate not having this printer.

Me and My New H-P Printer
Installation process a bit "iffy" for a non-computer person, but my son installed it for me. I really like the printer and it's fun to be able to print color at home. This is certainly not the first H-P printer that I've purchased. I've had VERY good luck with H-P printers.

Not as advertised
The HP website said the model was Apple Airplay compatible. It was not, and we returned it the next day. The return policy was as advertised, and the customer service person was very helpful and not at all confrontational.

Dead out of the box
Extremely disappointed, bought this with 3 years next day exchange coverage. Printer display showed blue screen with error code B305A901 during initial setup, completely dead. Wasted 2 hours going through virtual support, live support, did all kinds of testing and reset, finally came to conclusion to replace the printer, but was offered a refurbished unit. Because I've purchased a brand new unit, and haven't even printed one page yet, I've requested a new replacement, and was told that I will need to contact the store that I've purchase, which is in fact from the online HP store, and I was asked to contact them. Wasted another our calling different numbers and spoke to 3 other people, and was told that I will need to send the printer back for them to inspect, confirmed the issue, then a new one will be sent out. I have purchased this printer for business use, and I will be out of a printer for minimum 1 week. Not thrilled. Best part is, the rep that arranged my replacement asked if I need any replacement toners....I haven't even printed one page yet on a brand new printer, does he really think I am ready to buy new toners?? And what is the use of buying the 3 year next day exchange package?

Prints well but........
Prints quickly and good clarity. However, I can't believe you cannot scan from this unit. For that price and what you have to spend a year on toner, it's simply a joke that you have to buy a scanner on top of it. NOT thrilled that we bought 2 for the shop and they are basically only half the function we needed.

Good for small business uses.
The printer works as designed. However, tray # 1 is an automatic document feeder (ADF). I prefer it to be a tray and not as an ADF. The ADF is limited in the amount it can hold, about 35 pages or so. I am a Notary Public and Loan Signing Agent and I do hundreds of printing a week. In 3-months time, I printed over 6004 loan documents pages both legal and letter size pages. Also, the ink cartridges is very expensive. I wish I had known this before buying this printer. I highly recommend you look at the cost of ink before buying any printers from any vendors. Also, the window screen is much too small to read the menu items. The menu itself is not user friendly. It is not easy to find the print supply report menu. The navigation buttons are not clear as to how to use them and the printer does not come with a hard copy instruction manual or CD and I don't remember seeing a link in the set up papers to download a manual for the printer. I am satisfied with this printer, it does what it says it does. I managed to learn the navigation buttons and perused the menu items for familiarity. HP, I would like to see you come down on the cost of the ink cartridges. It is cost prohibitive for me, as a Notary Public loan signing agent to print volumes of pages, even with the 414X cartridges being used.

Dissatified
New printer and our IT employee had to spend almost 2 hours with your service department
to download upgrades to make it work properly. An individual or small business without an
IT person would have probably shipped it back.

It worked right out of the box!
I bought the printer about 3 weeks ago and had much to do. The previous printer, also hp, died after almost 10 years of usage.

Set Up Worked the First Time
Off to a good start. Worked first time. Set-up took 10 mins downloading drivers from HP for our 2 Macs.
Replaced an 8 yr old Xerox ColorQube 8570N whose power supply failed. It used solid ink. A technology no longer in use that I liked.
My concern before I bought and concern now is excessive cost of consumables. We'll see.

This was the second printer I got the first one lasted about 6 months and this one lasted not even 1 week. Right off the rip this thing sounded like a wounded ape. It has a horrendous howl and constantly displays printer error. Its a nightmare and I will be having my vengeance.

Good solid printer
Excellent solid-looking printer, prints cleanly and fast. Was very good value as it was on sale. My only disappointment is that it doesn't support cardstock, although the "extra-heavy" paper at 65 lbs just covers what is usually sold as cardstock.
I'm still having trouble getting the colour balance set so that printed colours match what I see on my computer screen, and the printer manual isn't any help.

Great for fast printing pdfs
I bought this for working from home. The toner seems to last a long time and it prints fast. I haven't figured out how to get it to print other image formats yet but that's my only issue

I own another HP Laser and both that one and this one are work horses. Only 4 stars though due to delay in getting product delivered. Took a while to get a response from HP.

Excellent Printing Once we got it networked
We bought this about two months ago and it tok us several cords and a great deal of time to connect it to our network but once we finally managed it, we could not be happier!
