Excellent. Had mine for 4 years now maybe? For those who complain about speaker configuration or whatever, do your research and learn about Atmos and placement. This is the best receiver out there in my opinion. Been doing surround for many many years and have a side live festival sound business. I'm finicky in creating great sound. Just four stars on ease of use and setup because the average person will have a learning curve. Get someone to help. I personally had no issues.

Built like a tank, power for days. I have this Denon powering 11 total speakers. 5.1.2 in my living room, 2 in my dining room and 2 on my patio. 3 total zones. It passed 4k120 from my PS5 to my LG OLED C3 without issue.

Great sound and video. The menu system could be a little more detailed allowing for greater flexibility in configuration, but still very functional. Very happy so far.

The clarity and the performance of this unit is second to none. Music is so realistic you can feel it. Dolby ATMOS make the music and movies con alive.

The 6700 gets a 1 star rating from me only because of an issue with the Dolby/Height/Top speakers. It can't be set up to do Front Dolby (upward firing speakers on top of the main Left/Right speakers) with Height or Top speakers in the Middle and Rear positions. If your speaker arrangement is this configuration, look at page 245 of the on line users manual. The top row is for 4 channels of Height with 2 channels of Dolby. It shows that the only options for the front speakers are Height or Top. For the middle it is only Dolby and the rear can be Height or Top. The best option for this speaker configuration is to set the height to 2 channels and Dolby to 4 channels. This allows the front to be Dolby, the middle to be height or top but forces the rear to be Dolby. The on screen menu (see photo, bottom of the screen) says that the front can be Dolby, but there is no option to select it, just Top or Height. For those not familiar with the terms, Dolby means the speaker if firing up and the sound bounces off the ceiling, Height typically means wall mounted and Top means it's mounted to the ceiling. I would have expected better from a $3100 AVR. I would think that the front could have the option of being Dolby with a firmware upgrade since other Height/Dolby configurations allow the front to be Dolby. Hopefully this review will catch the attention of Denon and they will fix this. When I went to the Denon web page to register it, the AVR X6700H is not listed as an option to select the model. (The AVC X6700 is listed, but that's an amplifier, not a receiver.) The 6700 has been out for 2 years now. PS: I'm an electrical engineer, I understand electronics.

I purchased this receiver to run my klipsch 7.2.4 atmos setup. The results are amazing! I haven?t had a single issue, setup was a breeze. The price is high but I am hoping to have this for a decade and it will be well worth it in the long run. I have had every major brand receiver and this one is the best.

When it works, it's an amazing receiver. After 6 months of use though, this receiver starting having intermittent issues such as randomly muting for a few seconds, and sometimes it would also play audio that sounded super fuzzy until I powered it down and back up. I wanted to believe it was an issue with some other piece of equipment in my home theater so initially tried troubleshooting other components of my system. As time went on though, the muting started happening more frequently and I also started noticing my speakers crackling for a few seconds as well as the unit randomly powering off. I tried troubleshooting the issue more seriously. After a month going back and forth troubleshooting speaker cables, replacing them with lower gauge wires, replacing my HDMI cables, confirming the firmware was up to date, factory reseting the unit, testing different speakers, I'm confident that my unit is faulty. I wish I hadn't went through the trouble because now my warranty has expired less than a week ago.

HDMI bug, then they send you a box that needs it own power, then it will produce 8K. I switched from a well known competitor (Y) for the money I don't see the value. This unit from heat pops and clicks ALL the time. Not only distracting but disconcerting, nothing to do about it has done this since day one. The support staff says send it in for someone to look it over. So I need to tear apart my system for weeks while technically the product is functioning? Waste of time, I asked for a replacement. Of course that won't happen. Stay away, this is an overpriced product. There are cheaper competitors with similar features. Don't rely on someone who reviews the product in their first week. Those reviews are useless. Now comes the obligatory response from Denon marketing telling how sorry they are. Or more likely won't even post my review. If Denon wants to make good send me a replacement and I will gladly send that goofy piece of hardware for 8K and the receiver back for a product that doesn't require some contraption to work.

I?ve been a Denon fan and customer for some time. In addition to the AVR-X6700H, which I?ve owned for over a year now, I've also owned an AVR 4310CI and AVR 3313. That said, I can?t in good conscience recommend this receiver or any of the current generation of Denon AVR until the current issue is resolved. Several months ago I noticed an issue with the HDMI operation. When there is a momentary break in the input signal, the output signal (i.e. Monitor 1/2) cuts out for approximately 7 seconds. This occurs as when the screen momentarily goes dark while starting or stopping a streaming program (Netflix, Prime, HBO, etc.). It also happens when the Blu-Ray player transitions from splash screen to a movie or back. The issue is particularly annoying because after four seconds my monitor (2019 LG 4K OLED C1 TV) displays the error message "No Signal Present" prominently on the screen. In addition the AVR appears to degrade the video signal quality. Recently, when I started an HBO movie on an Apple TV 4K, the sound track played for several minutes with no picture. When I restarted the program, my monitor displayed the error message ?Unable to play this video: HDCP ERROR?. Rebooting the receiver corrected the problem. I?ve noticed that on the transition from program material back to home screen, the component home screen (eg. Apple TV 4K) appears for a blink before the signal cuts out again for seven seconds. When I bypass the AVR by inserting an HDMI coupler between the Device-in cable and the Monitor-out cable, these transitions are instantaneous - and the picture is distinctly richer - with no HDMI issues. Denon claims there is an HDMI "handshake" within the Receiver. Maybe. However, I've been around computers long enough to know that sloppy coding and/or firmware bugs are enough to weigh down the best electronics. After speaking with a service rep at Denon, I was supposed to receive a call back from a senior engineer. I?m still waiting for that call. The open ticket number with Denon for this issue is: 220204-0000664. I?ll update this review as appropriate.

Beautiful sound. Unit was a bit much to set up, on fact I had to purchase an additional amplifier to enable using Zones 2 & 3 as it would not send music without a boost. Also having glitches occur when using a mini computer for video, music & e-mails. Glad to have such a great unit, disappointed it is not perfect.

Denon has always been impressive, but the AVR-x6700H really shines, especially with a home theater configuration. Have a 7.1.2 setup now, but will finalize my 7.2.4 configuration soon. Sounds so good!!

Although not as powerful as my Denon AVC-A110, it's still a beast of an amplifier and great value for the money. It's my secondary sourround amplifier and handles everything I throw at it with bravura. A very powerful, pompous and versatile surround amplifier and I can definitely recommend it (love the bi-amp feature). Best Regards, KC.

I have long been a fan of Denon, only on their less expensive products. Recently I decided to upgrade from my AVR-X4500H to this receiver and I couldn't be happier. I've noticed an improved sonic detail (albeit not huge) improvement in both music and movies. Another thing I noticed is a quite noticeable improvement in picture detail being preserved and presented to my now older, 4K TV.

Amazing receiver. This was the most money I had ever spent on a receiver. It was everything I expected in a Denon

Please bear with me a moment while I give Denon cudos for how they make their receivers. I purchased the AVR-X4300H as soon as it came out. I was completely satisfied with that receiver as Denon was (and is just blowing the competition out of the water. Great awesome sound and video enhancements as well. I have gotten into home theater and Denon is the perfect product to use. As I was beginning to expand my setup, I became impatient waiting for the AVR-X6500H I think if I recall correctly, so I went and purchased an Emotiva XPA Gen3 3 channel amplifier, which gave me additional channels to use with more output, and the results were amazing! And they still are! I have DolbyVision and Dolby Atmos and a roomful of Klipsch speakers that perform so well with a Denon AVR. I realize I'm missing a few updates (such as e Arc) but the overall performance of this Denon receiver is so good, so good that I have delayed upgrading to the 6700. I imagine the 6700 will be my target AVR at some point in the future, but right now, today, even though I have watched Denon update their AVRs three times since my purchase, I just can't justify replacing my current setup, which when you think about it, is giving the highest rating to Denon that is possible. And by the way, I have this AVR fully loaded, with every HDMI slot full with 2 4K DVD players, a Roku Ultra 4K, an Amazon 4K, an Nvidia 4K, and an Apple 4K. It gets daily use and it has never missed a beat!

I use a Denon AVC-X6700H receiver. I am generally satisfied. However, there is a bug with a sound (same as described by BaronBob. I have a Panasonic TX-65JZ2000E TV (from 2021) connected to an HDMI audioquest pearl 48 cable via eARC. When watching NETFLIX, the sound is randomly off for a 10-15 sec and then comes back. Please help with this issue.

Not super impressed with this one. If using multiple zones, HDMI sound output isn?t great (i.e. not surround, not Atmos). It?s also difficult to select different sound modes with the remote (Atmos, etc.). HEOS doesn?t play well with other platforms, and the app functionality is so so.

Though I had a professional install it, I liked the way Denon had a 8 step process to calibrate the speakers and subwoofer to room. Quite impressive the extent to which Denon cares about positional sound quality. Also, I liked that I was able to eliminate my HDMI switch little box since the function is built into the unit. Finally, I didn?t know exactly what HEOS was, but now I am a big fan.

I have the receiver for about 6 weeks and more than satisfied with the sound. What I do not like is the HDMI bug. If I push 4K/120HZ with RGB or any YCbCr format from my RTX 3090 through it to my LG CX then the picture will randomly look like a Super NES LSD trip. I have never seen a picture error like this. There are pictures and videos of it to find on the internet. I was hoping that this box from Denon would solve the problem, but it did not. Instead of picture errors I now have sound errors when I use this box. The sound is randomly off for a moment and then comes back. For this reason, I am very disappointed with the solution of Denon and hop to get it repaired at the end of the year when the spare parts are available for the service centers. To make myself clear I used high quality audioquest pearl 48 cables and from my experience 4K/120HZ does not work with RTX 3000 cards. my workaround is to use the second HDMI port of my graphics card to connect to the receiver and TV both and running a two-monitor desktop on windows. In this way I have the picture that I want on the TV and the receiver as sound output. Please Denon offer your customers a repair as soon the necessary parts are available.

The AVR-X6700H is the best receiver I?ve ever had. The sound quality is excellent, and the speaker separation is impressive.

Receiver works great for pushing sound through my Atmos set up but is lacking in HDMI 2.1 for gaming. Still waiting on solution before I can give 5 stars.
