Several points: First, I use Tiffen filters for both my UV lens protectors and Graduated and regular ND filters. There is no color distortion that I can detect. This Grad can be handheld in front of the lens if the exposure isn't too long. Second, I use a Zomei ring and Z Holder system for sunrise and sunset shots as the exposure times are longer than I feel comfortable hand holding the filter. Third, this larger filter is really useful for eliminating any shadowing when my zoom wide angle lens is set for focal lengths around 15mm. Although there is more gear to pack in my kit I get much better results than with the circular screw on grad filter. Largely because you have much more flexibility in establishing the horizon line.

You can capture stunning landscape photographs with the Tiffen 4x5" Hard Edge Graduated 1.2 ND Filter, designed specifically for vertical orientation. This high-quality neutral density filter is an essential tool for photographers looking to balance exposure in their images, particularly when dealing with bright skies or other luminous areas.
The filter's unique design features a dense edge that gradually transitions to clear at the center, creating a hard-edged line between the dark and light areas. This allows for precise control over the exposure across your image, without altering the overall coloration. With a 1.2 density, this filter provides a 4-stop reduction in light, enabling you to manage high-contrast scenes with ease.
Constructed from premium Water White glass, the Tiffen 4x5" Hard Edge Graduated 1.2 ND Filter ensures superior optical clarity. It's crafted using Tiffen's innovative ColorCore technology, a meticulous process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, then grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This guarantees a high level of precision and durability, making it a reliable choice for professional photographers.
Measuring 4x5" or 101.6 x 127mm, this filter is compatible with a wide range of camera lenses, making it a versatile addition to your photography equipment. Whether you're shooting vibrant sunsets or dramatic cityscapes, the Tiffen 4x5" Hard Edge Graduated 1.2 ND Filter can help you achieve beautifully balanced exposures in your images.
