Several points: First, I use Tiffen filters for both my UV lens protectors and Graduated and regular ND filters. There is no color distortion that I can detect. This Grad can be handheld in front of the lens if the exposure isn't too long. Second, I use a Zomei ring and Z Holder system for sunrise and sunset shots as the exposure times are longer than I feel comfortable hand holding the filter. Third, this larger filter is really useful for eliminating any shadowing when my zoom wide angle lens is set for focal lengths around 15mm. Although there is more gear to pack in my kit I get much better results than with the circular screw on grad filter. Largely because you have much more flexibility in establishing the horizon line.

With the Tiffen 5 x 6" Soft Edge Graduated 0.6 ND Filter in Vertical Orientation, you can achieve precise control over your image exposure, particularly in areas with bright light such as skies. This graduated neutral density filter is designed to darken specific areas of your image, with the highest density at the edge, gradually transitioning to clear at the center. This soft-edged line of transition ensures a seamless blend between the dense and clear areas, providing a natural and balanced image.
Unlike some filters, this neutral density filter does not alter the coloration of your image, preserving the original hues and tones. The 0.6 density offers a 2 stop reduction in light, preventing overexposure and maintaining the integrity of your shots even in challenging lighting conditions.
Constructed from premium Water White glass, this filter guarantees superior optical clarity and precision. It is crafted using Tiffen's innovative ColorCore technology, a meticulous process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, then grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This ensures an unparalleled level of accuracy and consistency in every filter.
Measuring 5" x 6" or 127mm x 152mm, this filter is perfectly sized for professional photography and videography applications. Enhance your image quality and control your exposure with the Tiffen 5 x 6" Soft Edge Graduated 0.6 ND Filter in Vertical Orientation.
