Awesome!!Space and time saver!

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I was surprised by the box's small size when I received the scanner. In the past, the few scanners I've had were quite large. This scanner is sleek and small in size but packs a big punch. The setup was a breeze with the wireless connection capability. After setup, the scanner needed to go through, which was also a smooth process. The scanner is high-speed, and I was able to scan 18 receipts in seconds with extreme accuracy. I was amazed at how accurate and clear the scans came out. this scanner is a game changer for my business. The time saved scanning and organizing in great software, frees up more time to complete other tasks. i would recommend this scanner for home or business use.

A compact speedy scanner for everyday use and reciepts!

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Upon receiving the scanner I was a bit skeptical due to its compact nature. I assumed this scanner was geared towards home use, or home office perhaps. But I will say I was pleasantly surprised! This little guy is quite speedy! I had no problem dumping piles and piles of documents into this thing. It took a bit to get set up and configured the way that I wanted, but it soon found a great home on the corner of my desk. The included PDF software something I was not familiar with, having only used Adobe. But it was pretty easy to get used to and i've found myself replacing Acrobat on my phone as well. The scanner (and associated software) did lighting fast OCR and it did a great job at it. The one touch button on the scanner quickly opened the associated software on my computer and gives you many options for destinations (which you can customize and remove the ones you don't need). The Receipt manager software built in to Epson ScanSmart worked REALLY well, it OCR'd everything and was almost perfect. The business card scanner software however, was a bit of a let down. It really struggled to OCR many non standard formatted cards (many nowadays), it also struggled to get the fields correct of the ones that it did OCR. Fax vs phone lines, not knowing what to do with addresses, etc. Given it wasn't my intended use case, I wasn't too upset. All in all, its pretty hard to beat given its size and retail price. Pros: Compact Speedy Lots of handy options (dust on glass detection, ultrasonic page overlap detection, etc) Included PDF software works great and has pretty much everything Acrobat Pro does. Cons Setup was kind of clunky Fought some issues with wifi setup on a mesh based systems, support recommended me not using a mesh network Business card scanner software leaves a lot to be desired

Overall, the Epson rapid receipt scanner is a powerful and versatile desktop scanner that offers a range of features designed to streamline document management. Its high-speed scanning capabilities and digital filing system make it an ideal choice for businesses and individuals looking to digitize their paperwork. The setup out of the box was super simple. I use the Wi-Fi setup and it worked seamlessly. It sends any document or receipt that you scan straight to your phone. Say goodbye to all of those scraps of papers and business cards you can never find. The scanner is also a perfect size and not too heavy.

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The Epson RR-400W Receipt Scanner is a game-changer for anyone looking to streamline their receipt management process. As someone who has a house full of shopaholics its been a struggle keeping track of paper receipts, so I was eager to put this scanner to the test. Unboxing and setup were relatively quick and easy. It did take 20-30 minutes to get up and running and software downloads, registration and updates took some time before the scanner was ready to go. The scanner's performance is where it truly shines. With its impressive scanning speed and accuracy, it effortlessly handles a variety of receipt sizes and types. The ability to scan both single and double-sided documents in one pass is a time-saving feature that sets it apart from competitors. The RR-400W also offers WiFi and USB connectivity allowing optimal placement of the scanner for those who have two home offices in their house. A mighty and capable scanner in a compact, sleek design.

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. While testing and using the Epson RapidReceipt 400w wireless scanner I come to appreciate a number of key elements of the product. First off, the setup and installation of the scanner was easy and intuitive! I found that the materials provided enabled a quick start and setup that was operational in less than 10-15 minutes. The scanner is always adaptive with a wide array of existing software to make cataloging receipts for records and accounting purposes a breeze! I think the scanner was designed for small businesses and freelance/remote workers as it packs a lot of value in a small package. As far as the performance is concerned, I was very impressed with the image quality as well as the speed of the scanner. The feeding process for receipts were much quicker than a traditional multi use printer-scanner device and the dedicated platform excels at being a purpose driven device that allows me to free up my multi use printer for other tasks.

Wish I Bought This Sooner!

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I've wanted for some time to have a dedicated scanner rather than using my all-in-one even though my all-in-one also has autofeed. Once I started using this scanner, I asked myself why I waited. There is no comparison between using the two. Opening the box there was a small unit well packed and taped securely. A small, folded easy to read "Start Here" guide, along with the power supply and USB cable was all that was needed. The setup was similar to a printer, and intuitive. The unit was light weight and seemed to be well designed. I chose to connect by USB as I was positioning the scanner near my PC, but assume that a wireless setup would be as one might expect. Some buyers may have some difficulty connecting to a wireless network if they have never done this before as there are several steps involved. I downloaded the driver and additional software and it installed step by step, showing me progress along the way. I also separately downloaded and installed Kofax Power PDF. Presto Bizcard is also included so I will now scan those piles of cards I have accumulated over time. The scanner has two paper paths to accommodate different papers. I tested it with about 15 pages and the scanner ran through them very quickly, including BOTH sides of each page. My computer gave me a number of options as to what I could do with the scans, but what impressed me most was the speed. Finally, this scanner can extract relevant information from and categorize the data from all my receipts, a previously burdensome task. Receipt management software is included as part of Epson ScanSmart, and the information can be uploaded to Quickbooks, Quicken, or TurboTax. A great little unit that does so much.

Great Scanner

We own an all-in-one laser printer/scanner/copier, but it's quite bulky, and scanning small items like receipts, passports, etc. takes a bit of time as the unit -with its flat top is prone to being placed upon with other objects inside our computer room. The scanner connects two ways: #1) via Wi-Fi and #2). USB connected to a computer (PC or Mac). Connecting via WiFi takes some time (including all updates) and could be frustrating if you're not tech-savvy, but it will eventually connect since it supports WiFi A/B/G/N and AC. On your PC or Mac, the Epson Scan Smart software is where you can Manage Invoices/Receipts that are scanned. After the receipt/invoice is scanned, you are prompted to the Invoice/Receipted Manager. The software detects vendor, date, currency, total amount, tax, and tip. While managing each receipt/invoice, you can choose a Classification, Tax Category, Pay Method, Pay Account, Card Type, Card Number, and Comments. You'll then be prompted where and what file format you want it saved -- Quickbooks Online, Quicken File, TurboTax, a CSV File, an image file (.JPG/.TIFF/.PDF), etc. There will be minor glitches when scanning small, uneven receipts and papers like paper jams and, at times, non-detection, but these are too common when the item being scanned is very small. Notable is the absence of a screen display on the main panel. There are five buttons to control the device and LED lights to indicate Power, troubleshooting, and connectivity modes or issues. Aside from its size, its duplex scanning capability and ability to scan rigid items are the best features. This unit would have merited five stars if not for the absence of a display screen panel. Otherwise, this is an ideal compact, stand-alone scanner, and the software that comes with it makes it an excellent addition to your home office to scan receipts, invoices, and other essential documents.

Powerful and efficient

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review Upon receiving the Epson RE-409W receipt scanner, I immediately took it out and set it up. It was well packaged in the box to prevent shipping damages. The included software made set up and use a breeze. Once it was up and running I scanned in a variety of receipts and other documents on a wide range of paper and sizes with no problem. The included document software easily stores, sorta, and searches the scanned receipts making retrieval a snap. I even tried scanning the plethora of business cards I have and it worked without a flaw, making retrieval a breeze. And to me one of the best features of this powerful beast is the size. Although it is mighty it has a small footprint, meaning it takes up little of the valuable real estate on my work area.

Effortless Efficiency: Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Review

I recently had the opportunity to test and review the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner, which I received at no cost as part of a beta testing program. Upon receiving the scanner from FedEx, I wasted no time setting it up. The quick setup guide, available in multiple languages, made the process a breeze, with clear and simple instructions that anyone could easily follow. This thoughtful inclusion of multiple languages ensures that the setup process is convenient for a wider audience, making them feel catered to. The installation app I downloaded took care of everything, from software installation and additional requirements to apps and product updates. The entire setup was smooth and trouble-free, and I was particularly impressed by its ease. The scanner is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows & MacOS, ensuring that it can be easily integrated into your existing setup. Upon setting up the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W, I immediately put it to the test. The scanner's performance was nothing short of impressive. It effortlessly scanned business cards and documents, delivering clear and speedy results. The automatic dual-sided scanning feature was a standout, outperforming my previous scanners in terms of both speed and clarity. One standout feature of the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W is its ability to analyze scanned receipts in-depth and automatically extract and save pertinent details such as vendor information, the bank card used, receipt total, and tip amount. The Invoice/Receipt Manager app organizes this information neatly into a digital ledger, allowing you to easily review and export the data to QuickBooks, Quicken, or TurboTax files. This feature has proven incredibly helpful for personal and business accounting needs. One aspect of the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W that truly caught my attention was its compact size. Despite its small form factor, the scanner doesn't compromise on features. It's incredibly portable, allowing me to carry it with ease wherever I go. This combination of portability and functionality makes the scanner stand out in its category.

A Little Scanner With A Big Job That It Does Very Well!

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. That said, I am very impressed with this little scanner after using it for the past week. It is so heavily featured that it takes a 254 page operators manual to explain everything it can perform, and that 254 page manual is heavily pictured, a necessity with such a heavily featured device. I am impressed. Right out of the very descriptive box (a cornucopia of information itself), it connected to our network without any involvement by me. And has done so every time I start it up. How it does that without knowing the network key is a little baffling, but it works. Installation of the software and drivers was slick, a little time consuming, and very accurate once finished. The scanning speed, compared to several other scanners I have owned, is extremely fast. Receipts literally flash thru the scanner at a speed I have never seen in such a device. Intentionally putting in a standard long narrow receipt without any support from the guides (done on purposes) resulted in a perfect image with complete clarity and 99% data accuracy. I watched the receipt go thru the scanner with a visible skew, but the image was perfectly straight, great time saver not having to rescan when I mess up. Images are presented quickly, no apparent lag at all, and the data reading capability of the scanner is excellent. It did miss the last 4 digits of the credit card number, mistakenly picking up the document reference number that was preceded by to **, probably the reason for the mistake. Transferring the data to a spreadsheet via the CSV format was perfect, saves a ton of time. No matter what I put the little tike thru, it came out exactly as I would want it to come out. Really very impressed compared to two other receipt type scanners I have used over the years, this one is more accurate, much quicker, and 1/2 the size with twice the features. Highly recommended.

Great Scanner!!!

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I can say that even though I revived this product for free, I definitely have been missing out! This scanner not only handles the day to day office items and papers that I have to scan in from people who have signed off on documents but also it scan paper thin receipts and clearly visible. The fact that I can link it to my phone and have wireless documents sent there is great. Also, I linked my quickbooks account so that all my receipts can flow into there seamlessly. I have told my dad about this scanner and have even shown him how it works and he plans to buy one for his business as well! So again even though I received this as a free product, I would definitely buy it! Before I was just taking pictures with my phone and uploading them to my documents Or quickbooks, now it's so much easier!!

Nifty package that gets you productive

This is a review for the Epson RapidReceipt RR-400W Wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The Epson RR400W scanner replaced an Epson scanner ES-300W. I had been using the 300W for a long time and its compact size and performance appealed to me. The RR400W is an improvement over the ES-300W. First, I love the nice beautiful styling and the compact design. While it is a bit larger than my old unit, it is not too much of a difference when it comes to the physical footprint. The features and functionality of the RR-400W is a significant leap over the ES-300W. Let me start from the beginning.... The scanners comes well packed in a solid box that does not have much wastage such as redundant packing material, lost of throw away plastic wrap, etc. Good job, Epson, to not generate more waste. The box and the scanner are light and inside the box, you will find the scanner, the power adapter brick, the power cable, and a USB cable. And a small folded paper insert that provides information on setup. I just went online to Youtube to get a better view of the setup. It took me about an hour to set it up while I multi-tasked. I suspect setting it up should take no more than 10 minutes at worst if you just focused on setting it up. Nothing too complicated. Just the blue packing tape off the scanner, go online and download the software and follow the instructions that the software provides. The setup process worked out fine including getting it connected to my Wifi router. I used the USB cable to connect the scanner to my laptop which was connected to the same network. This was to avoid any wifi setup related hiccups. A couple of clicks and a minute or two later, Wifi was configured on the scanner. Towards the end of the setup, the setup application checks and updates device firmware which takes a couple of minutes. At the end of the setup, the software guides you to a test scan which is triggered by pressing the scan button on the scanner. No matter how often I attempted the test scan, it was not successful. The software instructed me to fire up the Smart Scan software and attempt the scan from the Smart Scan application. Bingo, all was well. Scan went through, came out perfect and then the application offered an array of options for what to do with the scanned image - save to local drive, email it, send to DropBox, save to Word, save to PowerPoint, etc. This is excellent. No more needing to save in one app and then having to copy - paste between sources and applications and then tweak and adjust to make it all work. Well thought out and makes work life easier. Scan speed is fast and 2 sided scans are supported. The scanner also scans receipts and populates the data into applications like Excel, QuickBooks, Turobtax. Talk about being helpful and make work life better. There are some nuances to this. Even when scan receipts were not in the best of shape, the scanner got a clean, bright and crisp image. The automated recognition did not always work right. Sometimes, it got the business name wrong - bad OCR process, I think. Sometimes, it recognized the payment card (Chase) as the business. Sometimes it missed items when there were multiple line items in the receipt. But the bulk of the grunt work such as date of purchase, amount of purchase, etc. is all captured well along with a scanned image of the receipt to cross reference. Not perfect but quite handy. There is some niftiness to this package. The original scan documents can be setup to come out vertically up after the scan. This is helpful if you have tight space. Or with the press/slide of a button, the scanned source documents can slide right out in a straight path at the bottom. Smart thinking and quite nifty. My default is to have it come out vertically. Kofax PDF software is also included which is very handy to edit/touch up scanned documents. Lots of options to configure the scans including setting image resolution (ranges from 200 dpi to 600 dpi without optical enhancement and upto 1200 dpi with optical enhancement). I like the option of fixing and straightening skewed scan output...very handy and helpful. Overall, a beautifully designed scanner with nice software apps to make scanning easy and work life more productive.

Perfect scanner for small business or home office

Perfect scanner for home office or small business - exactly what we needed. Some of the features that sets this scanner apart and very suitable for daily use is - (1) receipt scanning and integration with popular expense management software (reduces so much manual work and errors) (2) multiple paper size support so that small receipts to A4 printouts can be scanned in one go (3) feeding tray that makes scanning a breeze (unlike flatbed scanners where we needed to load documents one by one) and (4) duplex scanning - is a ultimate time saver for scanning two sided documents. Combined with paper tray, you can scan multiple page two sided documents in one go and do not have to go through merge operations like we had to with non-duplex capable scanners. On the "non functional" side, the scanner is zippy! It is quite fast at 600dpi. Another big convenience enhancer and time saver is its network capability where it sits on the network ready to scan. The fact that, instead of some kind of proprietary protocol it seems to follow network scanning standards. There are multiple advantages of this. First of all, I was able to setup using my iPhone instead of going through a full PC install and USB connector. Once wifi is setup on the device, I was able to scan documents from my PC, iPhone, Android device and even my Chromebook! For me, Chromebook compatibility was a pleasant surprise (photos attached). We have used scanners before that have a proprietary app and work on mobile devices, but this is the first scanner that simply was recognized and worked out of the box with a Chromebook that we use quite a bit.
