Great ink.
Of course, it's the only game in town. The ink looks and works great. Be aware that there is an oily carrier that goes on the print which evaporates over time. I haven't seen a problem with non-RC papers. Apparently the stuff soaks into the paper where it does no harm. But with RC papers it can't absorb, and so it winds up on the back of the glass of framed prints. I have managed to mitigate the problem somewhat by covering RC papers with newsprint which seems to absorb much of the oil....

Great ink
Epson Ultrachrom HDR ink is fantastic. Very vibrant colors, very long lifetime, and it's a prefect match for the Epson printers. Accept no substitute! It does have one problem... If you print on RC materials the ink outgasses some kind of oily film onto the back of glass over time. It's nasty and you can see it on framed prints. I sandwich RC prints between sheets of newsprint for at least 24 hours - longer if possible, and that helps.

The UltraChrome HDR ink is a high-density resin-coated pigment ink formulation that features a three-level black ink technology - photo black, light black, and light light black - along with cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange, and green. A matte black option is also included and can be auto-switched with photo black for added versatility.
This generation of UltraChrome HDR ink is designed to deliver superior results, including reduced graininess in skin tone areas, smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, and highly accurate color control with neutral black and white. It also offers high gloss levels on water-resistant prints and outstanding long-term lightfastness, ensuring your prints maintain their quality over time.
The UltraChrome HDR ink also contributes to cost efficiency with the introduction of two high-capacity ink cartridges (350 and 700ml), reducing the frequency of cartridge replacements and promoting greater unattended printing.
The Stylus Pro 7900 and Stylus Pro 9900 printers, for which this ink is designed, feature Epson's MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head with 360 nozzles per inch for each of the ten active ink cartridges. They also incorporate Epson's Ink Repelling Coating and Automatic Ink Detection (AID) system, which work together to minimize nozzle clogging and paper waste during the cleaning process.
Epson's AID technology uses a sensor near the print head to monitor the electrical charges on the ink droplets as they are fired. If a lower than expected electrical charge is detected, indicating insufficient ink was fired, the print head cleaning process starts automatically. This ensures consistently high-quality prints and dramatically increases print speed compared to current 8 color 24 inch and 44 inch printers.
